25歳の頃に興味本位で登った富士山からの絶景がきっかけで、その後も色々な山からの写真を撮るようになった。山に求めるのは道中、または眺望から面白い景色が見えるかどうか。アスレチック感がある道が好きで、鎖場、川沿い、橋がある山ばかり登っている。

森林限界の約標高2000m以下の低い山では景色が面白い山がたくさんある。奥多摩の川苔山をここで例に挙げてみるが、登山道入り口から百尋の滝まで約１時間半ほど川沿いの景色を楽しむことができ、道には湧水が流れ出てその上を歩いたり、川を何度か渡ることができるが滑落の危険も度々出てくるので注意も必要。その名の通り苔が蒸しており景色も綺麗なので一番登った回数が多い山である。
